Dear Ms. Langley,
As an English student, these first few weeks have been okay. It’s been hard adjusting to virtual learning but I’ve started to get the hang of it mostly. The grade I earned currently is a 99 and I think that is a good representation of the work I’ve been doing for these first weeks. As a reader, I’ve been trying to read a lot more than I usually do. I started a book a couple of weeks ago and I‘m almost finished, which is surprising because it used to take me months to read one book. Some challenges I have been facing is staying on task because I’m not necessarily in an ideal learning environment. As a writer, I’ve been struggling a little with generating ideas without the help of someone but other than that it’s been good. In my learning goals and behaviors, some things I listed were reading regularly and reaching out of my comfort zone. So far, I think my learning has improved towards those goals and I’m getting into the habit of reading and I even picked a book I wouldn’t normally read. The book I picked is the first harry potter book, and I think I’m going to follow through the whole series. I’m on page 276 and only got a few more pages before I finish the book. I’ve been demonstrating original thinking about complex ideas by annotating a lot and thinking deeply about what I’m reading and writing. Responsibility wise, I’ve been trying to gain reading and writing habits and not procrastinate on assignments. Looking forward to the next six weeks, I want to continue to grow as a reader and writer and keep reading and writing habits. I think during these first few weeks I’ve been determined to keep to my reading and writing habits and I think I’m a person of determination and I guess that reflects how I work. Below is my link to my WordPress blog to show some of the work I’ve done the first few weeks like the Pulitzer letter and my assertion.
Thanks,
